Error analysis is one of the most useful method for teaching foreign language. This paper establishes the criteria for error analysis on learners’ oral language. The errors are classified in the following categories for the analysis: (1) errors in the sentence level (2) errors beyond the sentence level. This study suggests the criteria for error analysis are pronunciation/pitch, vocabulary, phrasal structure rules, pragmatic rules, and turn management. It is one of the critical researches for the Korean error analysis and education of the present and in the forseeable future.
