The Unnoticed Behavior in Using Other’s Possessions: From the result of the survey on Korean and Japanese youths

To find out what causes various miss-communication between Korean and Japanese people, we surveyed youths of Korea and Japan about their sense of language usage. In one of the items for the survey, we asked the subjects about their estimation of their feelings in the case of someone else using or eating his/her possession without telling them to find out the difference of the territorial sense of both countries. This article analyses the results of the survey operated in Tokyo and Seoul. From our analysis, we found the subjects of the Tokyo survey were very negative about someone else violating their territory without permission. On the other hand, we found that territory violation behavior was allowed in close relationships in the Seoul survey. However, it was also found that those aged in their early 20years in the Seoul survey had the tendency to feel awkward when friends and family violated their territory without permission and this group shows some common factors as the younger age group in Tokyo. There is a need for more surveys to examine if these differences will remain or not.
