The SARS-CoV-2 virus continues to spread, with over 264 million confirmed cases and over 5.3 million deaths across over 200 countries. Anti-inflammatory substances present in breast milk, protect children against common viruses and diseases such as pneumonia and neutralize, deter, treat and protect from SARS-CoV-2 virus. This article brings together the recent findings on the protective effects of breastmilk against SARS-CoV-2 virus. There are repetitive evidence of protective and therapeutic effects of breastmilk against infections in general and all kind of common cold including coronaviruses. Various antibodies have been found in breastmilk obtained from women who were positive for SARS-CoV-2 and from women who were vaccinated. Mothers of all categories, Covid-19 positive or negative, vaccinated or unvaccinated can breastfeed and are recommended for breastfeeding and skin-to-skin contact with their babies.
