A Clinical Case Report of Hypothyroidism Treated by Korean Herbal Medicine

Objective: The purpose of this study is to report the treatment of hypothyroidism by Korean Herbal Medicine. Method: Korean Herbal medicine was administered to patients diagnosed with thyroid dysfunction in clinical symptoms and thyroid hormone blood tests. Result: With Korean herbal medicine treatment, clinical symptoms disappeared and thyroid hormone blood test returned to normal. Conclusion: For hypothyroidism, fatigue and other symptoms cannot be resolved in spite of western therapy with hormone supplement agents for a long time. And it is often difficult to achieve remission or cure after stopping Western medicine. For thyroid disease, I believe that Korean medicine never lags behind Western medicine in treatment and management and can rather have a comparative advantage.
