The Development of Korean Language Teaching Materials using TV Dramas

The purpose of this study is to introduce principles and methods to develop Korean language teaching materials using TV dramas. Using TV dramas as teaching materials in language education provides an opportunity to study the practical language, intrigues interests and motivations by showing non-verbal communication methods, and enables to learn cultural aspects and integrated language study. Therefore, it is required to develop teaching materials using TV dramas. Targeting beginners, the teaching materials developed by utilizing TV drama and various aspects of other multi media aim to improve capability to practically communicate and to enable self-directed learning. And they include culture as an important part of learning content. Finally, this study will review the contents of the teaching materials.
