A learners motivation in learning is very important, particularly in the case of Korean language education, because most of the Korean language courses in Korean Language Institutes are for adults(over 18), they need to analyze the relationship between learners motivation and learning achievement from the viewpoint of adult learning. This study is based on a interview survey on 15 adults foreigners learning Korean as a second language in a university in Busan. The purpose of this study was to analyze and compare the differences of learning achievement among students with different learning motivations in order to find a way to improve the learning achievement. We need to ensure that students in this study have the same degree of motivation as found in adult learners in general, and learners have various motivations for learning Korean as a second language. According to their motivation, there has been difference of interest, participation and attitude, as well as learning achievement in class. Therefore, it's important to understanding the motivation of learners. Also, it requires that the Korean Institutes have interest in learning achievement, and the teacher needs to give the learners a strong motivation.
