The Korean Language has been adopted as a subject of foreign language tests in the Center Test, entrance examination for University in Japan, conducted by Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology from January 2002. Comparing with Korean’s being adopted as one of foreign language tests in SATⅡ, entrance examination for University in United States, this was somewhat late, but considering the importance of relations between Korea and Japan this has great significances. To make sure that the Korean Language obtain strong and firm status, in high school curriculum as a means of communication not activities for fun or hobby, the Korean language tests in the Center Test should be a fair and precise standard to evaluate language abilities. Therefore this study examined the conditions of Korean tests in the Center Test and analyzed types and contents of tests conducted from 2002 to 2005. The detailed and concrete study about vocabulary and grammar should be done in the future.
