Standards for Error Analysis of Corpus by Learners of Korean as a Second Language

Despite the great volume of research based on Korean language learners' corpus, the reusability and readability of the corpus are still lacking. The reasons for this deficiency are two-fold: the inaccessibility to the foundation of the error analysis, and the lack of objectivity. In other words, the research results are simply presented without clear grounds. This makes it difficult to understand Korean learners' overall development patterns. Accordingly, we should develop objective standards for error analysis and then analyze the learners' error patterns. One suggestion has been made to standardize the different standards of error analysis used thus far by researchers. In the future, through various examples of even more learners' errors, we need to examine and revise the standards for error analysis.
