A Comparative Study of Korean and Chinese: With Reference to /-jeok/ derivative

The comparative linguistic research on Sino-Korean with Chinese is not only helpful to have a systematic grasp of the essence of Sino-Korean by concrete data in Korean linguistics but also necessary to have a concrete grasp of the actuality of the interlanguage in the studies on the education of Korean for the learners from China or the education of Chinese for the learners from Korea. It can be used in the language treatment such as machine translation too. This paper focuses on the contrast of the derivative words of -的 appeared in <the vocabulary for learning Korean>. Toward the entries of the selected derivative words of Korean -的, according to its meaning three examples were found out and given its corresponding Chinese in detail, and which were taken as basic data. In this paper through the contrastive analysis of such data the difference and intercommunity in semantic function and syntactic function between Korean suffix -的 and Chinese auxiliary word (suffix) 的 were formally studied on.
