This study intends to analyze the difference of type and frequency of lexical errors depending on nationality and level. Results show that 1. The most common type of lexical error is LL(lexical substitution). 2. There is a statistically significant difference between levels. The rate of lexical error is the highest at the 1st level and then decreases gradually. It increases again at the 4th level but then gradually goes down. 3. There is a statistically significant difference between nationality. Chinese and English learners tend to make more lexical mistakes than Russian and Japanese learners. 4. The levels at which learners experience difficulties in learning vocabulary are different. English learners experience difficulties in learning vocabulary at the 1st and 4th level. Chinese learners experience difficulties at the 1st and 4th level. Japanese learners experience difficulties at the 2nd level. Russian learners experience difficulties at the 4th and 5th level.
