학구적 목적의 한국어 토론 수업 방안

An approach to teaching KAP (Korean as Academic Purposes) discussion class

The aim of this study is to investigate a teaching method for discussion skill enhancement in terms of interactional sociolinguistic approach and discourse approach. In college level contexts, as language and academic expectations increase for students, integrating language and content are strongly demanded. So logical exercises are concerned in the first place, followed by four types of gradable disagreement for learners to organize their thoughts and support their opinions. The next step involves a small group discussion on assigned topics, in which learners need to frame their stance through previously practiced expressions. For students to notice these pragmatic features of linguistic strategies, teachers need to provide them with opportunities to record their own speaking and review recordings and transcriptions of spoken discourse for themselves how language and interaction work. This study concludes with a suggestion of discourse analysis of both qualitative and quantitative approach for improvement of learners' proficiency.
