예비교사의 역사영화 만들기를 통한 가르칠 궁리의 모색

Pre-service Teachers’ Learning to Teach by Making Historical Films: Tasks and Suggestions

역사영화는 비판적 역사 텍스트 읽기와 역사영화 만들기라는 적극적인 창작 활동을 통해 영화의 역사 서술에 참여할 가능성을 열어주었다. 예비교사의 역사영화 학습이라는 주제와 관련하여 본 연구에서 주안점을 두는 강조점은 두 가지이다. 첫째, 역사과 교사 교육과정 구성을 경험하는 통로로서, 예비교사가 역사영화 비평과 제작을 통해 역사영화의 역사 서술에 참여하는 것이다. 두 번째, 역사영화 만들기 경험을 기반으로 예비교사가 영화를 활용한 역사 학습 방안을 모색하고 교수자로서의 전문성을 함양하는 과정에 초점을 두고 있다. 예비교사의 역사영화 만들기와 영화 기반 학습 활동을 제작하는 과제를 예비교사의 실제 결과물 사례와 함께 구체적으로 제시하였다. 단기적으로는 역사영화의 교육적 활용을 위해 역사영화 감상과 비평, 역사영화 평가 기준 작성 및 기개발된 역사영화 활용 교수･학습 자료 비평의 과제는 관련 교육 프로그램에서 활용 가능하고, 영화 제작 및 교수･학습 자료 제작의 전문성 함양의 전 과정을 보여줌으로써 장기적으로 역사과 교사교육과 재교육과정에 시사점을 줄 수 있을 것이라고 기대한다.

This study aims to illuminate the significance and process of learning how to read and make historical films to teach young students for their historical film literacy. To do this, pre-service teachers, taking the course of <films and history education> in a teacher education program, Fall 2021, participated in historical film making process as well as engaged in critical reading of historical films to experience the possibility of historical narratives in historical films. Several learning tasks are suggested to define, review, and evaluate historical films. As a part of developing teaching expertise, the pre-service teachers are expected to make their own historical films. The collaborative film-making task consists of four-steps; 1) determining a theme of the film based on the historical significance and audience, 2) writing and revising a synopsis, 3) performing, shooting, and editing films, and finally 4) presenting own creation to peers. Based on the pre-service teachers’ experience of making historical films, a task to produce a film-based learning activity was reported along with examples of final learning activities. This study is expected to give implications to teacher education and professional development programs by showing the entire process of cultivating the professionalism of film criticism, film production, and teaching and learning materials production that pre-service teachers must have for the educational use of historical films.
