This study reviews the communication interruption situation in real-time online Korean lessons through the method of conversation analysis. The communication interruption situation refers to the situation in which the communication during class deviates from the original flow intended by the teacher or is stopped. In 3 classes showing different proficiency, total 26 sessions of real-time online class are recorded and transcribed, and 100 cases are extracted, and analyzed focusing on the reason of communication interruption, whether they are solved or not, and the subject of the attempt and the type of attempt. As a result, the reasons of communication interruption are classified into ‘failure to recognize’, ‘misunderstanding of instruction’, ‘system failure’ and ‘environmental restriction’, among them, the situation due to ‘misunderstanding of instruction’ needs relatively many times of attempts to solve this, and the situation due to ‘environmental restriction’ is often not solved, showing high seriousness. In particular, these problems occurred more frequently in the class with low proficiency. This study is meaningful in that it qualitatively reviews the difficulty in communication and the reality of unnaturalness in real-time online classes.
