기계번역 활용 한국어 작문 교육의 효과

The Effectiveness of Korean Writing Education Using Machine Translation: Development of MTPE Teaching Method and its Application

The purpose of this study is to prepare a pedagogical plan for teaching Korean composition using machine translation and examine its effects. In this study, a machine translation post editing (MTPE) teaching method on composition was developed. It was designed by modifying and supplementing the post-editing technique used in the field of interpretation and translation, in line with foreign language education. Afterward, it was applied to the Korean writing composition class to examine its effects. According to the results of the study, the MTPE teaching method has brought about a significant impact in improving the writing ability of Korean learners. Through this, the possibility of teaching composition classes through machine translation was verified and proposed the future direction of writing education based on machine-translation tools.
