Previously, selecting vocabularies was based on frequency, review of existing literature, and expert assessment. However, associative relations such as collocations were not considered. Therefore, it is necessary to quantitatively analyze a more empirical verification of the semantic network based on collocation relations. These would be confirmed through the reaction time and accuracies that appeared in performing a lexical decision task for collocations of noun-verb pairs using priming effects by native Korean speakers and Chinese Korean learners. In the results, native speakers showed statistically significant differences between unrelated words, low-frequency co-occurrences, middle-level collocations, and beginner-level collocations. However, for Chinese-speaking learners of Korean, there were differences only between collocations and non-collocations in the accuracies. In particular, high-frequency collocations showed more accurate and consistent processing patterns compared to other relation types. These suggest that teaching vocabularies using high-frequency collocations makes learners construct the semantic network more effectively and can process vocabularies most accurately and easily.
