The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between resilience, grit, and academic achievement of foreign students who study Korean, and examine the mediating effect of grit on the relationship between resilience and academic achievement. For this, the relationship between the variables was analyzed through correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis based on 51 foreign students from the Korean Language Institute of J University located in Jeonju. The results confirmed the following. First, the correlation analysis for resilience and other variables found that 'interpersonal ability' and 'self-control ability', which are sub-factors of resilience, are positively related to grit and academic achievement. Second, grit's sub-factors showed a significant relation to academic achievement. Third, it shows that grit partially mediates resilience and academic achievement. It is meaningful as this study can help understand the variables that have effects on Korean academic achievement of foreign students.
