This paper examined the current status of KFL/KSL (Korean as a Foreign/Second Language) educational contents developed in Korea so far and discussed its future direction that meets the needs of a new era and changing expectations of learners. First, KFL/KSL contents were defined as ‘all forms of materials created based on a pedagogical framework which aims to achieve the goals of Korean language education effectively.’ The materials were compiled into a database consisting of 926 paper-based textbooks, 45 websites and 44 mobile applications. The analysis of data indicated that paper-based textbooks still make up the majority of KFL/KSL materials while progress is being made to develop digitized contents and materials to meet the changing needs of learners and digital environments. For future contents, efforts should be accelerated to develop customized materials catering to learners’ individual needs as well as develop materials across various platforms along with a thorough understanding/review of the instructional media. In this new era where pedagogical paradigm is being digitized, content developers and instructors should make continues efforts to accommodate and keep pace with changing technological environment.
