Developing and Validating a Learning Competency Test for College Students

본 연구의 목적은 대학생의 학습역량을 측정하는 신뢰롭고 타당한 검사를 개발하는 것이다. 이를 위하여 선행연구 분석을 통해 대학생 학습역량의 개념 및 구성요인을 도출한 후, 이들 요인을 측정할 수 있는 예비문항을 개발하였다. 대학생을 대상으로 수집한 데이터 중에서 불성실한 데이터를 제외한 844명의 데이터를 무작위로 두 그룹으로 반분하여 탐색적 요인분석과 확인적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 최종적으로, 33문항으로 구성된 ‘대학생 학습역량 검사’가 완성되었으며, 구성요인으로는 사고 창의(사고, 창의문제해결), 전략 학습동기(초인지전략, 정서관리전략, 학습동기), 기초학습(수리력, 디지털리터러시)이 도출되었다. 이 도구는 대학생의 학습역량을 측정하는데 유용하게 쓰일 수 있다. 이를 통해 대학은 학생의 학습역량을 향상시키기 위한 적절한 개입을 구상할 수 있을 것이다.

The purpose of this study was to develop a reliable and valid test of college students learning competencies. For this purpose, the concepts and components of college student learning competencies were derived from the analysis of previous studies, and preliminary items to measure these factors were developed. The data of 844 college students, excluding unfaithful data, were randomly divided into two groups to conduct exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. Finally, the 33-item ‘College Student Learning Competency Test’ was completed, and the components were thinking creativity (thinking, creative problem-solving), strategic learning motivation (meta-cognitive strategies, emotional management strategies, learning motivation), and basic learning (numeracy, digital literacy). This tool can be useful for measuring the learning competency of college students. Through this, universities will be able to devise appropriate interventions to improve students' learning competencies.
