Observations on a few Attitudes in the Chinese Poetry of Ancient East Asian Female Writers

동아시아 고대 여성작가 한시 속 태도에 대한 소견

본 연구는 동아시아 한·중·일 삼국의 고대 여성 한시 속에서 드러나는 태도를 주목함으로써 동아시아 여성이라는 범주적 맥락이 어떠한 연관성을 가지고 전개되었는지를 분석하고, 이를 통해 여성학적 시각에서 그녀들의 작품 속에서 드러난 이러한 태도가 어떤 의의와 가치를 지니는지 밝히는 데 그 목적이 있다. 고대 한·중·일 삼국은 유가라는 같은 문화와 한자라는 같은 문자를 공유했다. 이러한 동일한 문화적 지형도 안에 각각의 국가에 위치했던 여성작가들의 한시에는 몇 가지 경향성을 지닌 태도가 존재하는데 바로 ‘자발성’과 ‘관대함’, ‘솔직함’과 ‘성실함’이다. ‘자발성’과 ‘성실함’이라는 태도에서 여성작가의 주체성을 발견할 수 있으며 ‘관대함’이라는 태도에서는 상대와 세상을 이해하려는 포용과 수용이라는 가치를, ‘솔직함’이라는 태도에서는 진솔한 감정 표현을 통해 동서고금을 초월한 독자의 공감을 끌어내는 대중성을 발견할 수 있다.

This study aims to analyze the relevance of the broad East Asian context by exploring the attitudes revealed in the works of ancient female Chinese poets from Korea, China, and Japan. It also aims to reveal the significance and value of these attitudes from a feminist perspective on East Asian women's literature. The ancient Korean, Chinese, and Japanese countries shared the same cultural and linguistic landscape of Confucianism and Chinese characters. The Chinese poetry of female writers in each country exhibited several tendencies: spontaneity and generosity, honesty and sincerity. These attitudes reveal the subjectivity of female writers in spontaneity and sincerity. Generosity represents the value of understanding and acceptance towards others and the world, while honesty allows for a broad readership appeal by surpassing cultural boundaries through the expression of genuine emotions.
