The aim of this paperis to find out the causes of the error patterns of listening andpronunciation in L2-Korean on neutral, fortis and aspirated stopsin Chinese. All participants responded the questionnaires and theylisten and utter Korean. The target of the consonants are collectedand analyzed. Different groups of participants took part in theexperiment: Korean speaking level, male and female. Through theexperiment I analysis the frequencies of errors, and results indicatethat there are three significant problems. First, When it comes tolistening and pronunciation, the highest frequency of error is thefortis sound. Second, it is often confused to listen and pronounceamong neutral, fortis and aspirated stops. And third, If they hadnot corrected their errors at the beginning stage, their problemswould have been fossilized. This study shows two alternativesolutions of education as to work out these problems based on theresults of the survey. One is visual effective teaching method ofKorean which show how different triple stops are. The other istactile effective teaching method of Korean which makes themrecognize laryngeal tension by touching with their fingers, whenthey say the fortis sound. Through this alternative solution ofeducation, they can improve their pronunciation habit, which is notexist in Chinese pronunciations. (Kyungpook National University)
