A study on the meaning of ‘-neunde’ in spoken text

This study aims to find out the meanings of ‘-neunde’ using Rhetorical Structure Theory in spoken text. It is observed that ‘-neunde’ has 17 meanings with following order and frequency; ‘background > elaboration > joint > circumstances > concession > contrast > volitional cause > non-volitional result> antithesis > sequence > evaluation > motivation > non-volitional cause > justify > volitional result > solutionhood > interpretation.’ Standard meaning used in spoken text for ‘-neunde’ is background. Elaboration, joint, circumstances, concession, contrast are high frequency meanings in spoken text. The study highlights the most frequently used meanings for ‘-neunde’ in spoken text. It is also found that some meanings which have not been noticed are used frequently.
