Since 2006 a substantial number of studies have been publishedincluding M.A thesises and doctoral dissertations. Most research, however, has presented some teaching techniques with no theoretical background and no attempt has been made to justify their suggestions. In this paper, empirical data about how Korean vowels might be expected to teach in L2 classroom environments were presented based on acoustic analysis. In order to identifying positions of vowels, recordings were made by 20 Korean females from Seoul area. The data were analyzed acoustically, with the accompanying vowel plots for Korean providing a solid basis for the visualization of acoustical characteristics. In addition, the analysis yields a set of data which allow us to find out the most effective teaching method, and some ideas for further research how to teach Korean vowels were discussed, specifically a technique using a lollipop for representing the movement of the tongue.
