This study is intended to propose a method of Korean language education for married immigrant women through developing and reviewing the model of story expression teaching and learning. Subjects of the study are married immigrant women who are taking bilingual education training courses organized by the Korea Institution for Multicultural Education. The research method used is a qualitative case-study approach using the constant comparative method. The goal of Korean language education for married immigrant women is adaptation to Korean culture. The teaching and learning model is based primarily on the psychological method of narrative therapy. Based on the teaching and learning model, the stories of the women were analyzed - the results were ‘externalization’, ‘understanding’, and ‘reconstruction’ of self-identity. The findings of this study are as follows: First, the goal of Korean language education for married immigrant women should focus on identity formation as well as language skills. Second, various disciplines should be considered and integrated in content selection and organization of the curriculum. Third, a variety of mediums beyond the oral and written languages should be used.
