한국어 교육을 위한 한국어와 크메르어의 대조 분석 연구

A Study on the Contrastive Analysis of Korean and Khmer for Korean Language Education: focused on typological characteristics

The purpose of this study is to present typological characteristics between Korean and Khmer for teaching Korean language to Khmer native speaking learners. The contrastive analysis was conducted in four different criteria; basic word order of Korean which is SOV language and Khmer which is SVO language, conclusive endings of various sentence types, tenses, and conjunctive endings of compound sentences. It is meaningful that this study is a primary step in presenting linguistic data on Khmer based on typological characteristics for the purpose of teaching Korean language to speakers of Khmer language, a quite unfamiliar language not only among ordinary people but also among Korean instructors, by comparing and contrasting it with Korean.
