Objectives This study has the purpose of determining that how the social relationships in the Korean military are figured out by the profile of behavioral, emotional, and cognitional characteristics. Methods Data were collected from 54 military personnel by the phenomenological observation and experimental scales. Results The results of this study showed that the typical military personnel were higher activated than the atypical at all characteristic profiles. More analytically, the emotional characteristic is a boundary of typicality; the higher the emotion, the more typical it is. Conclusions This study suggests that management of emotional activation would be regarded as boosting military capability, and the limitations of this study require comparisons between the military and general societies.
