목 적： 본 연구는 정신분열병 환자가 지각한 가족의 표출감정과 환자의 사회적응 및 가족부담감의 정도를 주관적으로 평가하고, 그 상관관계를 규명하기 위한 것이다. 연구방법： 정신분열병 환자 81명에게 한국판 Level of Expressed Emotion(K-LEE)과 Social Adjustment Scale을 평가하게 하였고, 그들의 주요 가족 81명에게 가족의 부담 척도를 평가하게 하였다. 그 결과 얻은 전체 표출감정과 사회적응, 가족부담의 관계를 Pearson’ s correlation으로 분석하였다. 연구결과： 환자가 지각한 가족의 총 표출감정 평균 점수는 11.58±2.20 이었고, 가족 부담감의 전체 문항평균은 1.20±.67이었으며 환자의 사회적응 전체 문항 평균은 2.50±0.63 이었다. 가족의 표출감정, 환자의 사회적응, 가족부담감 척도들의 점수간에는 통계적 으로 유의한 상관관계가 나타나지 않았다. 그러나 하위영역들 간의 상관관계에 있어서는, 가족의 지지가 부족할 수록 환자의 사회적응 장애가 심한 것으로 나타났다. 또한 가족의 간섭이 심할 수록 환자의 사회관계 및 여가활동에서의 역할, 핵가족에서의 역할, 및 직업생활에서의 역할에서 유의하게 장애가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 환자가 지각한 가족의 비난이 클수록 가족의 객관적 부담감과 주관적 부담감이 유의하게 컸다. 결 론： 이러한 결과는 가족들이 정신분열병 환자의 사회적응을 돕고 가족 자신들의 부담을 줄이기 위해 지지는 강화하고 간섭은 줄이며 비난을 삼가야하여야 함을 시사한다.
Object：This study was to study correlation between schizophrenic patients’ subjectively perceived expressed emotion by family and their social adjustment and perceived burden of family. Method：Subjects were 81 schizophrenic patients and their family. Patients rated Korean version of Level of Expressed Emotion(K-LEE) and Social Adjustment Scale. Their family rated a Scale for Family Burden. Collected date were analysed with Pearson correlation test. Results：Mean total score of K-LEE, Scale for Family Burden and Social Adjustment were 11.58±2.20, 1.20±.67 and 2.50±0.63 respectively. There was no significant correlation among them. However among subscales, there were some significant correlations. The less family support was and the more severe intervention of family was, the poorer were patients’ social relationship, leisure activities, functions in extended family and functions in occupational life. And the severer patients perceived family’s blaming was, the greater family’s subjective and objective burden were. Conclusion：These results suggest that, for patients, better social adjustment, family have to provide more support, reduce intervention and restrain blaming.
