(Purpose) The library is an organization that realizes social and cultural values as a basic infrastructure that forms a social structure. As a member of society, it is necessary to seek ways to support start-ups as a way to solve the problems of our society and local communities and as a way to expand the role of libraries. In this study, we would like to conduct a case study on whether the library has performed any services related to the role of start-up support so far, and to analyze research related to start-up support as one of the library services. (Design/methodology/approach) To this end, literature analysis, case studies, and FGI processes were performed, and finally, the role of the library as one of the local start-up ecosystems was proposed. (Findings) As a result, this study suggested that libraries should serve as libraries, start-up-related support programs and services, professional and budget support, mentoring and consulting support, network support, and start-up information sources and platforms. (Research implications or Originality) Libraries should serve as libraries as start-up support spaces, start-up-related support programs and services, professional manpower and budget support, mentoring and consulting support, network support, and start-up information sources and platforms. In future studies, specific research on what services and functions should be implemented for the library to serve as a start-up support platform, and it will be necessary to derive improvement requirements, including satisfaction, by conducting a survey of librarians in libraries that actually operate start-up specialized libraries.
