최근 요서지역 하가점하층문화의 많은 유적들의 발굴성과는 청동기시대가 개시되면서 국가단계로 집입했을 가능성을 시사한다. 그중에서도 이도정자유적은 중국 내몽고자치구 적봉시에 위치하고 있는 하가점하층시대 유적으로 약 5만 평방미터의 면적에 거주지, 가마터, 회갱, 묘지, 성벽과 환호 등700여 곳이 발굴되어 1,500여 점의 유물이 출토된 대형 유적으로 가장 잘 보존된 하가점하층문화 거주지 유적으로 꼽히고 있다. 다른 유적과 달리 토성안에 벽돌로 쌓은 담벼락으로 둘러싸인 집들이 질서정연하게 배치되어 있는 점은 공동체 생활을 중요시하는 우리 문화와 매우 흡사한 마을 구조이다. 전체적으로는 해자, 성벽, 주거지, 묘지의 네 부분으로 구분되어 있으며 계획된마을 구조는 이 시기 취락 형태와 가족 조직 및 주변 지역과의 광범위한 교류형태에 충분한 자료를 제공하고 있다. 아직 정식발굴조사보고서가 나오지 않아 미흡한 부분이 있겠지만 고조선과 직접 연계되는, 특히 주거지 유적에 대한 특징을 한반도 지역 거주지 유적과 비교하기 위한 사전 연구로 삼아 정리해 보고자 한다.
The purpose of this study is characteristics of Erdaojingzi site in Chifeng among the research findings on the Lower Xiajiadian Culture. The average depth of the cultural deposit at the site was about 8 metres and remains of the surrounding moat and city walls were excavated. The city walls are located within the moat's boundaries. A gentle slope of cultural deposit has formed within the city walls and a number of house remains were found lying along the top of the city walls. The site lies on the slopes of the hills lying to the north of the village of Erdaojingzi in the Hongshan District in Chifeng, Inner Mongolia, and encompasses an area of around 30,000 square metres. A rescue excavation was conducted on the site by the Inner Mongolia Cultural Relics and Archaeology Institute in April 2009, during which time some 5,200 square metres was uncovered. The site itself is thought to be one of the best preserved Lower Xiajiadian culture sites discovered to date and the structures discovered at the site have survived intact. The moat, city walls, courtyards, building foundations, vaults and roadways have provided scholars with a wealth of new information on the settlement patterns and social organization of that period
