성매매피해자 지원시설 종사자의 현장 경험에 대한 내러티브 탐구

A Narrative Inquiry on Field Experiences of Hands-on Workers in the Prostitution Victims Support Facilities

본 연구는 성매매 근절 및 탈성매매 과정에서 중요한 역할을 담당하고 있는 성매매피해자 지원시설 종사자들을 대상으로 현장 업무 수행과정에서 이들은 어떠한 경험을 하고 있는지, 그 과정에서 일어나는 인식 변화는 어떠한지를 살펴보고자 수행되었다. 이를 위해 근무 경력 5년 이상인 종사자 4인을 대상으로 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였고, 인터뷰 자료는 Clandinin과 Connelly의 내러티브 탐구 방법을 사용하여 분석하였다. 내러티브 분석 결과는 다음과 같이 의미화 되었다. 첫째, 성매매피해자 지원시설 종사자들의 초기 경험은 ‘우연으로 맺은 인연’으로 해석되었다. 둘째, 연구참여자들의 성매매피해자 지원 경험이 쌓여가는 과정에서 이들의 내러티브는 ‘함께 성장하는 과정’으로 의미화되었다. 셋째, 이들이 바라는 향후 지원 방향에 대한 내러티브는 ‘함께 풀어가야 하는 과제’로 구성되었다. 결론적으로 연구참여자들의 내러티브를 통하여 성매매피해자 지원현장의 고충과 어려움에 대한 내부자적 관점을 제시할 수 있었다. 이를 통하여 향후 성매매피해자에 대한 우리 사회 전반의 인식 개선이 이루어져야 하며, 보다 현실적인 대안 모색이 필요함을 제안하였다.

This study was conducted to explore what are the working experiences and changes of awareness of workers, who have played an important role in promoting anti-prostitution and rehabilitation in the prostitution victims support facilities. For this, four staffs with more than 5 years of the field expediences participated in the in-depth interviews and interview data were analyzed based on the narrative method developed by Clandinin & Connelly. The results of narrative data analysis were constituted as follow meanings. First, early experiences of workers in the prostitution victims support facilities were understood as ‘getting involved by happenstance’, Second, their continuing support experiences working for the victims were analyzed as ‘the process of growing together’. Third, the participants’ narratives were drawn as ‘the tasks to be pursued together’ as a future support direction. In conclusion, this study describes the difficulties and hardships experienced by prostitution victims facilities from insiders’ perspectives, Based on this finding, our society’s general perception on the victims of prostitution should be changed and more realistic measures need to be provided.
