육사 생도의 내현적 자기애와 우울의 관계

The Relations between Covert Narcissism and Depression for KMA Cadets: The Mediating Effect of Maladaptive Cognitive Emotion Regulation Strategies and Self-Defensive Ambivalence over Emotional Expressiveness

목적 본 연구에서는 육사 생도의 내현적 자기애와 우울의 관계에서 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략과 자기방어적 정서표현 양가성의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 분석결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의를 살펴보고, 생도 정신건강 향상 및 적응상 시사점과 추후 연구의 필요성에 대해 논의하였다. 방법 2020년 4월 육사 전생도를 대상으로 자기보고식 설문으로 자료를 수집하였고, 1,054명에 대한 분석을 실시하였다(남생도 934명, 여생도 120명). 본 연구에 사용된 척도는 내현적 자기애 척도(CNS), 한국판 인지적 정서조절전략 척도(K-CERQ), 한국판 정서표현 양가성 척도(AEQ-K), 한국판 역학연구센터 우울 척도(CES-D)이며 SPSS 27.0으로 분석하였다. 내현적 자기애와 우울의 관계에서 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략과 자기방어적 정서표현 양가성의 매개효과를 검증하기 위해 Hayes(2013)가 제안한 SPSS PROCESS macro 4.0의 model 4를 사용하였다. 결과 상관분석 결과, 내현적 자기애, 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략, 자기방어적 정서표현 양가성, 우울 간 상호 유의한 정적 상관관계를 보였다. 매개분석 결과, 내현적 자기애와 우울의 관계에서 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략과 자기방어적 정서표현 양가성의 이중매개효과가 유의한 것으로 나타났다. 결론 본 연구의 결과는 내현적 자기애가 높은 육사 생도를 대상으로 부적응적 인지적 정서조절전략과 자기방어적 정서표현 양가성을 다루는 심리적 개입을 통해 우울을 경감시키고 생도생활 적응 향상에 도움이 될 수 있음을 시사한다.

Objectives In this study, the mediating effects were verified to determine whether maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy and self-defensive ambivalence over emotional expressiveness mediate in the relationship between covert narcissism and depression in Korea Military Academy (KMA) cadets. Methods April, 2020, The data were collected from all cadets of the KMA by conducting self-report questionnaires. There were 1,054 cadets used for data analysis(male 934, female 120). The Covert Narcissism Scale (CNS), the Korean version of Maladaptive Cognitive Emotion Regulation Questionnaire (K-CERQ), the Self- Defensive Ambivalence Over Emotional Expressiveness Questionnaire-Korean version (AEQ-K), and the Center for Epidemiological Studies Depression Scale (CES-D) were implemented and analyzed. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0 and the SPSS PROCESS macro 4.0 proposed by Hayes (2013) was used to analyze the dual mediating effect. Results As a result of the analysis, it was found that the dual mediating effects of maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategy and self-defensive ambivalence over emotional expressiveness were significant in the relationship between covert narcissism and depression. Conclusions The findings of the present study suggest that psychological interventions to deal with maladaptive cognitive emotion regulation strategies and self-defensive ambivalence over emotional expressiveness in KMA cadets with high levels of covert narcissism may be beneficial in reducing depression and improving adjustment to cadet life.
