본 연구는 COVID-19 이후 사교육 시장에 나타난 변화를 조사하기 위해 사교육 공급자와수요자의 경험을 토대로 심층 인터뷰를 실시하였다. COVID-19 이전과 비교했을 때 가장 크게 달라진 변화로는 학생들은 학습 환경에 따른 자율학습 시간의 활용이 달라진 것을 확인할수 있었다. 자율학습 시간의 활용의 차이로는 증가한 자율학습 시간에 사교육을 확대하여 교육적 강화를 꾀한 경우와 기존처럼 그대로 유지하고 있는 경우, 그리고 감염 우려로 사교육을중단한 경우가 나타났다. 이는 COVID-19의 장기화가 사교육 시장에 미친 영향으로 볼 수 있으며, 학생들의 학업성취도 격차를 더욱 증가시키는 요인으로 작용되었다. 또 다른 변화로는COVID-19의 장기화로 확대된 비대면 수업이 공교육을 넘어 사교육에도 강요되고 있음이다.사교육 공급자들은 선호도와 만족도가 높은 대면 수업에서 비대면 수업으로의 방식 전환을위해 원격수업을 도입하고 있다. This study conducted in-depth interviews based on the experiences of private education providers and consumers to investigate changes in the private education market after COVID-19. Compared to the pre-COVID-19 period, the biggest change was that students used self-study time according to the learning environment. As for the difference in the use of self-learning time, there were cases where private education was expanded to enhance educational reinforcement during the increased self-study time, cases where it was maintained as before, and cases where private education was discontinued due to concerns about infection. This can be seen as the effect of the prolonged COVID-19 on the private education market, and it served as a factor that further increased the gap in students' academic achievement. Another change is that non-face-to-face classes, which have been expanded due to the prolonged COVID-19, are being forced into private education beyond public education. Private education providers are introducing remote classes to switch from face-to-face classes, which are highly preferred and satisfactory, to non-face-to-face classes. The change in education method caused by COVID-19 can be seen as a global change beyond Korea, and in response to this, public and private education should make efforts to research and develop educational contents suitable for the new education method.
