본고는 드라마 <와이 우먼 킬 시즌 I(Why Women Kill season I)>에 등장하는 세 명의 여주인공의 캐릭터 구현요소에 따른 이미지 표현특성을 논의하는 데 목적이 있다. 캐릭터 구현요소는 1) 시대적 환경요소 2) 사건적 요소 3) 캐릭터의 성격적 요소로, 각 요소에 따른 이미지 표현특성을 찾아볼 수 있었다. 극의 배경이 1960년대, 1980년대, 2019년으로 시대별 여성상을 의상과 메이크업 등, 액세서리 등을 이용하여 표현하였다. 또한, 각 캐릭터가 겪는 주요 사건에 따라 이미지의 변화를 겪게 되는데, 사건은 심리적인 변화를 주고 이는 외적 이미지에 영향을 준다고 해석할 수 있다. 극 중 이미 설정된 캐릭터의 성격은 이미지 표현특성에 기본적인 영향을 미치며, 이는 심리적 변화와는 크게 차이가 나지 않는 것을 알 수 있었다. 따라서, 캐릭터를 완성하는 데는 배우의 연기와 표정, 말투나 행동 등이 중요한역할을 하지만 이에 못지않게 외적인 이미지 표현도 중요함을 알 수 있다. 이미지 표현특성은 배우의연기를 더욱 돋보일 수 있도록 해주는 장치임과 동시에 향유자가 극 중 캐릭터를 직접적이고 즉각적으로 이해할 수 있게 해주는 역할을 한다.
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the image expression characteristics according to the character implementation elements of the three heroines in the drama <Why Women Kill season I>. The elements of character implementation are 1) environmental factors of the times, 2) event factors, and 3) personality factors of characters. The background of the play is the 1960s, 1980s, and 2019, and the female image of each era is expressed using costumes, makeup, and accessories. In addition, it was found that the major events experienced by the character cause psychological changes, which affect the external image change, but the character of the character that has already been set is not greatly affected by the psychological change. Therefore, it can be seen that an actor's acting, expression, tone or behavior are important in completing a character, but image expression is a device that enhances an actor's performance. In addition, it plays a role in enabling the enjoyer to directly and immediately understand the character in the play.
