An exploration of how transformational leadership and perceived organizational support influence creativity and performance in hospitality industry

The purpose of this study was to integrate leadership and creativity theories, and proposed a model linking transformational leadership and perceived organizational support with creativity and performance through affective organizational commitment in the context of hospitality. Structural equation modeling (SEM) was thus conducted using 682 employee–supervisor dyads from the international tourist hotels in Taiwan. Supports were found for the significant and positive mediating relations between affective organizational commitment and the influences of both transformational leadership and perceived organizational support on creativity and performance. The theoretical and practical implications in hospitality are also discussed
