디퍼러닝 연계 교양교육튜터링 효과성 분석

Analysis of Educational Effectiveness of Liberal Arts Tutoring Program Linked with Deeper Learning

디퍼러닝(deeper learning)은 학생들이 길러야 할 역량군 또는 달성해야 할 목표군을 기술하기위해 사용되어 왔고, 이와 같은 목적에 도달하기 위한 학습법(또는 학습과정)의 특징을 나타내는용도로 언급된다. 디퍼러닝의 목표는 “교과 내용을 명쾌하게 이해하고 이를 교실 내와 직업 현장에 적용할 수 있는 능력”을 향상시키는 것이며, 관련 연구에서는 디퍼러닝을 향후 마주하게될 대학(college)생활, 직장(career)생활, 사회(civic)생활에서의 성공을 위해 필수불가결한 것으로보고 있다. D 대학교 교양교육연구소는 2020년 1학기부터 지속적으로 교양교육튜터링 프로그램을 운영해오고 있다. 디퍼러닝이 추구하는 가치와 많은 부분을 공유하고 있는데, 디퍼러닝의 주요 요인인 자기조절학습, 의사소통능력 및 문제해결능력은 그간 운영해 온 교양교육튜터링 프로그램의 취지와도 부합한다. 이러한 관점에서, 본 연구에서는 교양교육튜터링을 통한 디퍼러닝의수준 변화를 측정하고 이를 통해 프로그램의 효과성(effectiveness)을 계량화하고자 한다. 교양교육튜터링 프로그램 참여자들은 비참여자들에 비해 디퍼러닝의 전반적인 수준과 일부 하위 영역에서 유의미한 향상을 보였다. 자료분석 결과와 관련하여 고등교육 현장에서 특정 프로그램의 교육효과성 논의를 부가하였다.

Deeper learning has been used to describe the set of competencies or goals that students need to cultivate or achieve. It refers to the characteristics of learning methods (or learning processes) aimed at reaching such objectives. The goal of deeper learning is to enhance the ability to “clearly understand the content of the curriculum and apply it in the classroom and professional settings,” and related studies consider it essential for success in future college life, career life, and civic life. The D University has been continuously operating a liberal arts tutoring program since the first semester of 2020. It shares many values and aspects pursued by deeper learning, as the key factors of deeper learning, such as self-regulated learning, communication skills, and problem-solving abilities, align with the purpose of the program. From this perspective, this study aims to measure the program participants’ level of deeper learning and quantitatively assess its effectiveness. Participants in the program revealed significant improvement in the overall level of deeper learning and some subscales compared to non-participants. In relation to the findings of the data analysis, the discussion on the educational effectiveness of specific programs in the higher education is provided.
