중국 서부지역의 자유무역지역 건설과 지역금융혁신역량 제고에 관한 연구

A Study on the Construction of Free Trade Area in Western China and the Enhancement of Regional Financial Innovation Capacity: Focus on Effect Evaluation and Mechanism Analysis

본 논문은 “일대일로(一帶一路)”를 배경으로 중국이 자유무역 실험구역을 연안에서 내륙으로 확대하는 것을 추진하는 배경하에 2010년부터 2020년까지 중국 서부 11개 성, 자치구의 패널 자료를 바탕으로 금융서비스 혁신변수의 실제 가치를 비교 분석하였으며, 연구결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 자유무역구의 설립은 중국 서부 지역의 금융서비스 혁신능력 향상을 촉진시켰으며, 특히 2017년 산시(山西)가 자유무역구를 설립한 이후 2.72%, 3.36%, 3.82%, 3.90%를 기록했다. (2) 서부 자유무역구(WFTA) 설립 이후 지역별 금융서비스 혁신을 촉진하는 과정에서 금융혁신, 금융개방 및 금융심화는 임계적인 효과를 가져왔다. 이러한 결론은 시장의 일관성을 극복하고 시장 경제의 위험 건정성을 거친 후에도 여전히 유효하며, 서부 지역이 차별적 발전을 실현하기 위해 정책배당을 충분히 활용해야 한다는 결과를 분석하였다.

Under the background of “one belt, one road” construction, it is an important measure for China to promote the expansion of the free trade experimental zone from coast to inland. Based on the panel data of 11 provinces and autonomous regions in western China from 2010 to 2020, this paper compares the actual value of financial service innovation variables with the counter factual value. The results show that: (1) The establishment of free trade zone has promoted the improvement of financial service innovation ability in western China, especially since Shaanxi set up free trade zone in 2017, 2.72%, 3.36%, 3.82%, 3.90%.(2) After the establishment of the Western Free Trade Area (WFTA), financial agglomeration, financial opening and financial deepening have produced threshold effects in the process of promoting regional financial service innovation.These conclusions remain valid after overcoming trend consistency and after robustness and placebo testing.Based on the above conclusions, this paper puts forward that the western region should make full use of the policy dividend to realize differential development.
