김연수 『唱本 春香歌』에 있어 [효]의 기능과 분포 ‒사설 중심의 서술학적 관점에서‒

Function and Distribution of “Hyo” in Kim Yeon-Su’s changbon of Chunhang-ga

판소리는 이른바 구전심수(口傳心授)의 육보식(肉譜式) 전습법 아래 계승되어 왔다. 그런 가운데 ‘아니리’ 대 ‘창’이라는 1원적 2항 대립구도가 판소리에 대한 인식의 주류가 되었고, 판소리 창본들 또한 거의 전적으로 그 같은 단순 대립구도를 기저로 채록, 작성, 유포되었다. 판소리 창본의 그 같은 관행에 비추어볼 때, 김연수(金演洙)가 1967년의 『唱本 春香歌』를 시작으로 1974년에 마무리 간행한 판소리 다섯 바탕의 창본들은 그 전체적 구성에 있어 아주 파격적으로 색다른 면모를 띠고 있다. 특히 ‘아니리’ 대 ‘창’의 단순 대립구도 이외에 [효] 대 [(인물)담화]라는 또 다른 대립구도를 도입하여 전체적으로 2원적 4항의 대립구도를 설정하고 있을 뿐만 아니라, 일부 대목들에 있어서는 그 같은 다원적 대립구도가 더 세분화되고 있다는 점에서 그렇다. 위와 같은 기본 인식 아래, 김연수의 『唱本 春香歌』에 새로 도입된 [효] 대 [(인물)담화]의 대립구도를 고찰하고 특히 [효]의 기능 및 분포를 분석하는 것이 본 논문의 주된 내용이다. 이를 위해 (1)창본의 차별성, (2)창본의 전체적 구성, (3)사설의 서술적 맥락 등 세 가지 부문별로 순차적인 분석을 시도하고 있다.

The purpose of this study is to clarify the function and distribution of “Hyo”(effect), the main operative concept adopted by Kim Yeon-Su for his elaboration researches on the narrative process of five principal Pansori works. Hence, this study focuses on Yeon-Su’s changbon of Chunhyang-ga and examines its major differential characteristics, global composition, and aspects concerning its verisimilitude (“vraisemblance” in French) in particular. “Hyo” is present throughout the text of the changbon and contributes to the narrative’s verisimilitude as an appearance of truth referring to a neoclassic idea of reality or credibility on the reader’s sense and within the context of the fictional world, or otherwise simply conforming to a reader’s sense of realistic credibility or probability. The narrative’s verisimilitude is far more flexible in Pansori than in other genres of art and even tends to yield to diverse aesthetic aspects of playing artistry. However, it is undeniable that similar to all other genres of fiction, a Pansori performance also depends on certain linguistic textual narrative forms. We hope that the results of the textual and synchronic approach folllowd in this study would contribute to clarify those of the musical and diachronic approaches followed else where in the literature on Pansori.
