극판소리의 특징과 발전 방향

Characteristics and Activation Method of Theatrical Pansori

<판소리움직임탐구>는 소리와 몸의 관계를 파고들어 그 상호관련성을 고민하고 관객과 함께 풀어내고자 실험하였다. 극판소리는 판소리의 ‘극적 성격 강화’ 를 통해 (재)창작의도를 표출하였으며 이는 판소리 내부적 예술성의 병렬적확산이라는 의미를 지닌다. 극판소리는 현재 우리에게 ‘독립예술’의 형태로 판소리의 예술적 기능을 살려내고 있다. 이에 대해 필자는 향후 ‘개념 예술’ 및‘과정 예술’의 형태로 발전시킬 것을 제언하였다. 또 현대의 시대정신을 포착해갈무리함으로써 판소리의 본질을 충실하게 이행해야 함도 주장하였다

Even though the stage direction has changed over time, the essence of Pansori, ‘the unique sounds and melodies, composition of narrative, and artistic achievement through Imyeon’, still remains. This study focuses on theatrical pansori. Theatrical pansori includes “Red Cliff” “Wrinkled Girl” “Pansori Hamlet Project” “Over the Crowd-singing of Pansori: Munjeonbonpuri” and “Pansori Movement Research.” “Red Cliff” gave “Jeokbyeokga” a more contemporary direction. “Wrinkled Girl” eloquently expresses the life of “Gong og jin,” who was oppressed by the times. The “Pansori Hamlet Project” reinterprets western classics. “Over the Crowd-singing of Pansori: Munjeonbonpuri” is a pansori chorus, and “Pansori Movement Research” expresses sound through the body. One among the many varieties of pansori, theatrical pansori is an independent and distinct art form that expresses the creator’s artistic philosophy. These works are an independent art-form that can be a mixture of ‘process art’ and ‘conceptual art’, being adaptable to the taste of the community. Therefore, they are able to capture and convey the Zeitgeist of the 21th century. The transformation of pansori into modern art can be attributed to theatrical pansori.
