이 논문은 지역문화로서의 보성 판소리의 보존과 발전을 위해 보성 판소리 박물관 건립을 제안하는 목적을 가지고 있다. 또한 보성판소리 박물관의 필요성과 세부 구성계획을 밝히고 있다. 보성은 차와 판소리의 본고장으로 유명하지만, 아직 그에 걸맞은 문화적 기반을 가지고 있지는 못하다. 따라서 보성의 지역 문화 발전을 위해서는 보성판소리 박물관 건립이 반드시 필요하다.무형의 문화유산인 판소리를 유형의 박물관에서 전시한다는 것은 쉬운 일이 아니다. 따라서 보성판소리 박물관이 성공하기 위해서는 관객에게 흥미를 주는 박물관이 되어야 한다. 이러한 기본 개념에 따라 박물관은 관객의 능동적 참여가 가능한 전시물로 구성되어야 할 것이다. 이를 위해 전시물은 '판소리 탐험', '판소리 체험', '판소리 여행'과 같은 세부 계획에 의해 구성될 필요가 있다. 또한 박물관은 하나의 이야기 구조를 가지고 있어야 한다. 그래야만 박물관이 판소리를 홍보하는 올바른 역할을 담당할 수 있을 것이다. 이러한 시도가 의미 있는 일이 되기 위해서는 무엇보다도 지역문화와 전통문화에 대한 올바른 이해와 관심이 선결되어야 할 것이다.

Boseong is, in fact, very famous for the green tea and also it is known as the place where the Pansori was born. However, there are no cultural infrastructures for its reputation. Therefore, it is necessary for the Pansori Museum to be built in Boseong for the sake of the cultural growth of this region.Pansori is an intangible cultural heritage, therefore it is difficult to show all about the Pansori in a museum where the tangible cultural properties are put on display. In this reason, the Pansori museum must be an interesting place for the visitors, and the visitors must get interested in the exhibition and get participated in the exhibition spontaneously. Therefore, the exhibitions need to be composed of the 'exploration' into the Pansori, the 'experience' of the Pansori, and the 'expedition' of the Pansori, for example. Also, the exhibitions of the museum must be displayed in a scenario. In this case, the museum can take an appropriate role in letting the Pansori known to the public.
