신재효 사설에 나타난 性的 語彙와 性描寫

Sexuality of Sin, Jae-Hyo’s Pansori Works

신재효(申在孝；1812∼1884년)는 판소리 6마당의 사설(춘향가 남창․동창, 심청가, 토별가, 박타령, 적벽가, 변강쇠가)과 판소리 단가(<오섬가>, <방타령> 등) 10여 수의 작품을 전한다. 그의 판소리 사설과 단가는 판소리 예술사에 있어서 중요한 작품일 뿐만 아니라, 조선후기 사회상과 풍속을 확인할 수 있는 귀중한 자료로 여겨진다. 신재효 판소리 사설과 단가에는 서민의 생활상(生活相), 시절 풍속(時節風俗), 연희 풍속(演戱風俗) 등이 핍진하게 나타나 있다. 또한 성적 어휘(性的 語彙)와 성묘사(性描寫)가 다양하면서도 절묘하게 확인된다. 판소리 사설과 단가에 나타난 성적 어휘는 조선후기 언중(言衆)의 일상의 언표로서 작품에 반영된 것으로 여겨진다. 성묘사는 세태풍속과 사회실상을 바탕으로 이루어진 것으로 확인된다. 판소리 사설과 단가는 조선후기 사회의 내밀한 성풍속의 파편을 곳곳에 내재하고 있다. 따라서 신재효 판소리 사설과 단가는 조선후기 통속적인 문예물로서의 역할뿐만 아니라, 일상의 기록물로서의 가치가 높다. 판소리 사설과 단가를 통해서 조선후기 사회의 일상과 풍속, 나아가 인간사의 내밀한 성풍속을 재구할 수 있을 듯하다.

Shin, Jae-Hyo(1812∼1884) is a very important writer of pansori in 19th century. He writes six kinds of pansori works and over 10 pieces of pansori danga(short song). His pansori works are Chunhyangga, Simcheongga, Tobyeolga, Baktaryeong, Jeokbyeokga and Byeongangsoega and his pansori danga are Ohseomga and Bangataryeong etc. These are very importance works of study on pansori which is a particular type of Korean traditional performing art. His works are precious materials of study on Korean social circumstance as well as pansori in 19th century because these kinds of works based on common people’s lives and customs in Korea in his whole life. This paper focuses on Korean common people’s lives and sexual customs in 19th century through a researching of his works. His works show specifically common lives, special sexual terms and female’s customs in Korea. Therefore we can exactly understand common people’s lives, sexual customs and Korean sexuality in 19th century. The conclusion is that Shin, Jae-Hyo’s pansori works are very importance materials in the field of Korean sexual customs and sexuality. His works are not only preciously materials of pansori but also valuable memorandums of Korean traditional culture in 19th century.
