이 논문에서는 박동진의 창작 판소리 세계를 박동진의 예술 생애와 관련지어 전체적으로 조망해 보는 것을 목적으로 한다. 지금까지 살펴본 박동진 창작 판소리의 성격을 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 연행의 주체였던 박동진은 판소리 문화 창달과 기독교 전도를 목적으로 500회 이상 왕성하게 <예수전>을 공연하였고, 지금도 <예수전>이박동진 판소리 전수관을 중심으로 전수가 계속되고 있다는 점에서 큰 의의가 있다. 둘째, <충무공 이순신 장군>은 1961년부터 시작된 ‘이순신 선양’이라는시대적 상황에 부합하여 이순신을 통해 민족주의 의식을 고취시켰으며, 그이후로도 임진왜란이라는 소재를 선택하여, 지속적으로 민족 예술 부활 의지를 판소리 창작에 반영하려 하였다. <논개전>, <권율장군 일대기>가 이에 해당하는 작품이다. 셋째, <예수전>과 <이순신전>의 주제 의식은 메시아의 탄생과 부활이라는 종교적 믿음을 통한 인간의 구원 문제와 이순신이라는 영웅의 충성을통한 나라의 구국이라 할 수 있다. 넷째, 박동진의 예술적 삶의 과정과 연관 지어 볼 때에, 박동진의 창작판소리는 판소리 대중화와 민족 예술 부활을 위한 시대적 산물이었으며,그의 예술·종교 지향점 삶과 판소리 창작 의욕의 결과물이라고 할 수 있다.
As the above study, the characteristics of Park-dongjin’s creative pansory can be summurized as followings. The first, <Jejus jun> that is integrated with Korean emotion and Christian religion as different and unique subjects seems to create the pansory implying Christian culture and world view. And it is significant that Park-dongjin prolifically performed more than 500 times, and his performance is instructed continuously centering at the Park-dongjin pansory inheriting hall till now. The second, <admiral chungmugong Lee-sunsin> inspired nationalism through ‘Lee-sunsin’ to coinsident with the spirit of the times as ‘Lee-sunsin exaltation’ since 1961, and tried to reflect the will of national art Renaissance continuously with the materials of Imjinweiran. <Nongae jun>, <general Kwon-yul’s life story> correspond to the works. The third, the themes of <Jejus jun> and <Lee-sunsin jun> are human redemption through religious belief of the birth and Resurrection of the Messiah, and national salvation through allegiance of hero Lee-sunsin. The forth, related with Park-dongjin’s artistic life process, his creative pansory works are the periodical results for pansory popularization and national art Renaissance, and they are the results of his will to creat pansory as well as his life to aim art and religion..
