판소리와 문어체 고소설의 관련성에 관한 일고찰

조선후기 예술사에서 판소리의 위상을 감안할 때, 판소리가 여러 문예양식에 영향을 미쳤다는 것은 짐작하고도 남는다. 그런데 문어체 고소설에한정해 보면, 기껏해야 <유충렬전> 정도가 판소리의 영향권에서 설명되는작품으로 거론되어 왔다. 본고에서는 중편영웅소설 <안은동전>과 장편가문소설 <양문충의록>을 대상으로 판소리가 문어체 고소설의 형성에 미친영향을 고찰함으로써, 판소리와 문어체 고소설의 관련성에 관한 내용을 보충하고자 했다. <안은동전>은 남주인공 안은동과 여주인공 박금년의 영웅적 활약상을그린 영웅소설이다. 그렇기에 작품의 주된 의미망도 이들의 스토리에서찾아볼 수 있다. 그런데 인물들의 갈등양상에서 <춘향전>의 구성기법, 반전 기법, 장면극대화, 골계와 풍자 등의 형상법이 활용되어 있는바, 이들은조선후기 당대의 여러 문예양식 중 판소리의 영향에 의한 것으로 판단된다. 더구나 상기의 특징들은 주인공이 아니라 부수적인 인물들에게서, 그것도 작품의 어느 특정 부분에 집중되어 장면화된 특징을 지니고 있어, 마치 판소리의 부분의 독자성을 연상하게 한다. <양문충의록>은 장편가문소설로서 43권본과 32권본이 현전하는데, 그중에서 32권본 <양문충의록>은 원작에서 대폭 개작된 이본이다. 그런데개작되면서 판소리의 그림자를 짙게 나타내고 있다. 특히 인물의 골계적인형상이 구체적인 장면 전개와 구어체 표현, 그리고 비속화·희화화의 기법을 통해 그려지고 있는바, 이러한 성격은 장편가문소설에서는 매우 이례적인 것이다. 비속화·희화화를 통한 골계의 창조는 조선후기 문예 중에서세태소설이나 <우부가>, <용부가> 등의 일부 가사에서도 발견된다. 그러나 이들은 구체적인 장면 묘사가 부족하다. 그러나 32권본 <양문충의록>의해당 부분을 보면, 장면 묘사가 대단히 구체적이고, 그 묘사의 구체성에서골계가 창조된다. 구체적 장면 묘사가 비속화·희화화로 이어져 골계를 창조하는 모습은 판소리의 본질이다. 그런 점에서 32권본 <양문충의록>은판소리의 영향이 짙게 나타난다. 이것은 32권본의 작가가 판소리 미학의세례를 많이 받은 사람이기에 가능했다고 본다. 판소리가 이질적인 유형인 영웅소설과 장편가문소설의 형성에 영향을미쳤다는 사실은 판소리의 막강한 위세 때문임은 분명하다. 이로써 조선후기 문학 장(場)에서의 판소리의 자력(磁力)을 재확인하게 되었다

But only <Yuchoungyuljun> became an object of attention meanwhile. A effect of Pansori on literary style ancient novel can find <Aneundongjun> and <Yangmunchounguirok>. A composition of work, <Aneundongjun> make use of composed technique of <Chunhyangjun>, reversal technique, scene unfold, colloquial style etc. And <Yangmunchounguirok> make use of humor character. By the way, they are all intrinsic quality of Pansori. Therefore, <Aneundongjun> and <Yangmunchounguirok> was effected Pansori surely. In <Aneundongjun>, a composed technique of <Chunhyangjun> and reversal technique made use of forced marriage scene of Sungneuntaesoo. And in <Aneundongjun>, scene unfold made use of meeting of Aneundong and Jungsojeo. And colloquial style is appeared entire narration. In <Yangmunchounguirok>, humor character especially is appeared negative characters such as stepgrandmother, wicked woman. On effect of Pansori on literary style ancient novel, scene unfold, concrete expression, humor beauty especially a re important. A writers of literary s tyle ancient novel especially put emphasis on this elements of Pansori. Inversely this indicate that scene unfold, concrete expression, humor beauty are core of Pansori. <Yangmunchounguirok> is long family novel. Pansori esthetics effected long family novel. This is very important in ancient novel history. Meanwhile, we understood that the long family novel belonged of Yangban class. So we understood that the long family novel have no concern with folk art esthetics such as Pansori esthetics. But this study illuminated that Pansori effected the long family novel. This indicated that Pansori was art by strong magnetism on Chosun later art field.
