<흑백기>와 <흥부전>의 비교연구

<HEI BAI JI> investigation: Focus on comparation with <HEUNG BOO JON>

<흑백기>는 재일 작가 장혁주가 <흥부전>을 각색하고 번역한 일문본<흥보와 놀보>를 다시 중국어로 번역한 작품이다. 이를 중역한 范泉은 <흑백기>가 중국 북부 몽고의 설화 <박타는 처녀>에서 비롯된 작품임을 언급하면서 그것이 조선으로 전파되어 보다 복잡하고 아름다운 작품인 <흥부전>이 탄생한 것으로 보았다. 따라서 <흥부전>을 개작한 일문본 <흥보와놀보>는 본래 중국인의 유산을 이용해 창조된 것이라고 했다. 그러나 본고는 <흑백기>와 <흥부전>의 관계에 주목한다. <흑백기>가 처음 중국에 소개되고 이후 다시 열다섯 폭의 揷圖를 곁들여 출간되었다는점과 일문본 <흥보와 놀보>가 유통되다가 중국까지 전파되었다는 점은<박타는 처녀>와의 연관성 보다 <흥부전>이 갖고 있는 작품성에 기인한다고 보기 때문이다. <흑백기>는 학계에 소개만 되었을 뿐, 본격적인 연구는 아직 진행되지않은 작품이다. 이에 본고에서는 <흑백기>를 <흥부전>의 이본으로 보고,두 작품을 세밀하게 비교 고찰하였다. 이를 통해 <흑백기>가 <흥부전>의기본 골격을 유지하고 있으면서도 부분적으로 차이점을 지닌 작품임을 확인하였다. <흑백기>는 <흥부전>에 비해 단어나 표현의 사용면에 있어서단순화된 경향이 있는 작품이다. 그러나 특정한 부분에 있어서는 <흥부전>의 그것보다 훨씬 세밀하고 구체적으로 묘사되었다는 특징도 지닌다. 또한작품의 결말도 권선징악이 아니라 권선으로 이루어져 있었다. 이렇듯 <흑백기>는 <흥부전>의 중문본으로 작품 내적 특성을 지니고 있으며, 더불어 그간 우리가 중국문학의 일방적인 수용자의 입장에만 있던것이 아니라 제공자의 역할도 했음을 확인시켜주는 중요한 작품이라 할수 있다.

<HEI BAI JI> originally called<HEUNG and NOLBU>，which is modified and translated from Korean classical novel <HEUNG BOO JON> by Japanese writer JANG HYUK JOO. The current Chinese version of <HEI BAI JI> was translated by Chinese writer who called FAN QUAN. In the introduction, FAN QUAN mentioned that “Now we translate this work from Japanese to Chinese is bringing our Chinese original heritage back to us again, after many years preservation and several modifications. This is our own properties which created by Mongolia ancestors!” Therefore, we can see that the attitude of FAN QUAN is “return property to the rightful owner” when he select and introduce this famous Korean work to Chinese readers. This paper is focusing on the relationship between <HEI BAI JI> and <HEUNG BOO JON>. After Japanese version of <HEUNG BOO and NOLBU>transmitted from Japan to China, it was published as <HEI BAI JI>. Those relation is not built on the Mongolia’s story of ‘The woman who is cutting the Pumpkin’，but generated from the own characteristics of <HEUNG BOO JON>. <HEI BAI JI> is only be introduced in Korea and China without deeply investigation. Therefore, <HEI BAI JI> was considered as another version of <HEUNG BOO JON> in this paper for comparation study. From our study,it demonstrated that <HEI BAI JI> have its own characteristics which also maintained the <HEUNG BOO JON>’s main structure. Compare with <HEUNG BOO JON>, <HEI BAI JI> have more simplified expression in terms of the words they used. However, it was also have some specific and detail descriptions in certain part. In addition, <HEI BAI JI> just express the main subject of ‘Leading to the goodness’. As the Chinese version of <HEUNG BOO JON>, <HEI BAI JI> kept part of original characteristics. It is also indicate that during that period many of Chinese works continuously transmitted from China to Korea while there were still some of Korean works transmitted from Korea to China, and those were also translated and widely diffused. Therefore, <HEI BAI JI> shows the important role in literature area.
