대학생 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 진로소명의 매개효과

Mediating Effect of Career Calling on the Relationship between Career Decision Level and Career Preparation Behavior of College Students

목적 본 연구는 대학생의 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동에 진로소명이 어떠한 영향을 미치는지 살펴보고자 하였다. 그리하여 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 진로소명의 매개효과를 확인하였다. 방법 전국의 대학교 재학생 283명을 대상으로 그들의 진로결정수준, 진로소명, 진로준비행동에 관한 자료를 수집하였다. 자료분석을 위해 주요변인들 간의 기술통계분석, 상관분석을 실시하였고, 매개효과 검증을 위해 회귀분석과 위계적 중다회귀분석을 실시하였다. 매개효과는 Baron과 Kenny(1986)의 매개효과 검증 방법과 Sobel Test를 사용하여 확인하였다. 결과 연구결과, 진로결정수준, 진로소명, 진로준비행동 사이에서 유의미한 상관이 나타났다. 이는 진로결정수준이 높을수록 진로준비행동 수준이 높고, 진로결정수준이 높을수록 진로소명 또한 높아진다는 것을 의미한다. 또한 대학생들의 인구통계학적 변인인 나이, 성별, 학년, 전공계열을 통제했을 때, 진로결정수준과 진로준비행동의 관계에서 진로소명의 부분 매개효과가 있었다. 결론 대학생들의 진로준비 과정에서 그들의 진로준비행동을 촉진시키기 위해서는 진로소명에 초점을 두고 상담 및 진로교육 전략을 수립하는 것이 효과적일 수 있다는 것을 확인하였다.

Objectives The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship among career decision level, career calling, and career preparation behavior. The present study thus examined the impact of career calling on the relationship between career decision level and career preparation behavior of Korean college students. Methods For this aim, 283 Korean college students participated in this study and their career decision levels, career calling, and career preparation behavior were measured. Uni-variate, bivariate, and hierarchical multivariate analysis were conducted. Baron and Kenny(1986)’s mediation test procedure and Sobel test were used to analyze the data. Results As results, there was a significant and positive relationship between career decision level, career calling and career preparation behavior. This means higher career decision level would be able to lead higher levels of career preparation behavior and career calling. In addition, when demographic variables, age, gender, grade, major field were controlled, we found the mediational effect of career calling on the relationship between career decision level and career preparation behavior. Conclusions We offered implications that to lead the higher levels of career preparation behavior of college students, it would be important to focus on increasing their levels of career calling.
