이 논문의 목적은 한국어 학습자들이 이해하는 데에 어려움을 느끼는 문법 중 하나인 '-더-' 포함 문법을 보다 쉽게 이해하는 것에 도움을 주기 위함이다. 이를 위해 먼저 한국어교육을 위한 문법서와 개론서를 바탕으로 한국어교육적 관점에서의 ‘-더-’의 기본적인 의미를 밝히고 한국어 교재 7종에 나타난 '-더-' 포함 문법의 설명을 분석해 보았다. 분석 결과 한국어 교재의 ‘-더-’ 포함 문법 설명에는 ‘과거의 경험’, ‘회상’과 같은 개념이 포함되어 있으나 교재 ‘E’의 ‘-더라고요’의 설명을 제외하고는 선어말어미 ‘-더-’에 대한 구체적인 언급이 나타나지 않았다. 반면에 외국어로서의 한국어교육을 위해 개발된 문법서는 ‘-더-’ 포함 문법 설명 시 ‘-더-’를 따로 분리하고 ‘-더-’의 의미를 구체적으로 설명하고 있기도 하였다. 본고에서는 학습자가 선어말어미 ‘-더-’에 대한 배경지식을 가지고 있다면 새로운 ‘-더-’ 포함 문법 항목을 접할 때 이에 대한 의미를 유추할 수 있을 것이라고 본다. 이에 ‘-더-’ 포함 문법의 형태와 의미를 설명할 때에 과거 경험 회상의 ‘-더-’가 포함되어 있음을 명시할 것을 제안한다. 이러한 설명은 한국어 직관이 없는 외국인들이 맥락에 어울리는 문법 항목을 선택하는 데 도움을 줄 것이다. 이 연구가 한국어교육 현장에서 ‘-더-’ 관련 문법의 교수-학습에 도움이 되는 기초 연구가 되기 바란다.
This study aims to help Korean learners understand grammar including ‘-deo-’, which is one of the grammar that they find difficult to understand. Accordingly, the basic meaning of ‘-deo-’ in grammar books and introductory books was identified, and the explanation of grammar including ‘-deo-’ in seven Korean textbooks at universities was analyzed. As a result of the analysis, the grammatical description of the university Korean textbook includes concepts such as ‘past experience’ and ‘recall,’ but the grammar description related to ‘-deo-’ did not specifically mention ‘-deo-’ except for the description of ‘-deo-’ of the textbook ‘E.’ On the other hand, in the Korean as a foreign language grammar book, ‘-deo-’ was separated from the grammar item and an explanation was presented. Therefore, before teaching grammar containing ‘-deo-’, this paper believes that if the learner has background knowledge of ‘-deo-’, the meaning can be inferred when encountering a new grammar item including ‘-deo-’. Therefore, when explaining the form and meaning of grammar containing ‘-deo-’, it is proposed to specify that ‘-deo-’ of past recollection should be included. This explanation will help foreigners who do not have Korean intuition to choose grammatical items suitable for the context.
