차별적 접촉요인과 자기통제력이 비행청소년의 도박문제에 미치는 영향

The Effects of Differential Association Factors and Self-Control on Gambling Problems in Juvenile Delinquents

도박문제란 도박 행위로 인해 개인의 일상생활이나 삶의 여러 가지 측면이 부정적인 영향을 받으며 이것을 인지함에도 불구하고 도박에 참여 욕구를 통제하거나 조절할 수 없어 생활에 어려움을 초래하는 것을 의미한다. 이 연구는 현재 보호관찰 처분을 받은 청소년을 대상으로 비행청소년의 도박문제에 차별적 접촉요인과 자기통제력이 미치는 영향을 검증하는데 목적이 있었다. 전국 보호관찰소에서 보호관찰 처분을 받은 학생 대상으로 설문조사를 시행하였고 총 113명의 표본이 분석에 활용되었다. 데이터를 위계적 회귀 분석한 결과, 모델 1에 투입된 통제변수인 성별과 연령은 도박문제에 통계적으로 유의한 영향을 미치지 않았으나 모델 2에 투입된 차별적 접촉 요인인 친구의 도박 행위 목격 경험은 통계적으로 유의한 정(+)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 모델 3에서 추가로 투입된 자기통제력으로 인해 모델 2에서 유의하던 친구 도박 행위 목격 요인의 영향력이 사라지고 자기통제력만이 도박문제에 부(-)적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 즉 다른 변인을 통제했을 때 자기통제력은 비행청소년의 도박문제에 부(-)적 영향을 끼친다고 할 수 있었다. 이와 관련한 정책적 제언과 이 연구의 한계점 및 의의를 결론 및 논의에서 다루었다.

Gambling problem means that various aspects of an individual's life are negatively affected by gambling, and despite recognizing this, they cannot control their behavior or the desire to participate in gambling which also causes difficulties in life. The purpose of this study was to verify the effects of differential association factors and self-control on the gambling problem of juvenile currently under probation. A survey was conducted on students under probation who visit probation offices across the country. 113 samples were used for analysis. As a result of hierarchical regression analysis, gender and age, the control variables input into model 1, did not have a statistically significant effect on gambling problems, but the experience of witnessing a friend's gambling act, a differential association factor input into model 2, had a statistically significant effect. It was found to have a positive (+) effect. Also the self-control added in Model 3 was found to have a negative (-) effect on gambling problems, but the effect of the experience of witnessing a friend's gambling act was disappeared. In other words, when controlling for other variables, it could be said that self-control has a negative (-) effect on the gambling problem of juvenile delinquents. Recommendations related to the results and the limitations and significance of this study were dealt in detail.
