(Purpose) The importance of start-up education is increasing in line with the era of the 4th industrial revolution. Accordingly, the government is promoting the creation of a start-up-friendly culture to spread start-ups in universities and the qualitative growth of start-up education, but domestic start-up capabilities are gradually decreasing, so it is time to supplement the link between start-up education and start-up capabilities. Therefore, this study aims to design a start-up academic system-based curriculum to revitalize start-up education. (Design/methodology/approach) In order to design a curriculum based on the start-up system to revitalize start-up education, cases of start-up education at home and abroad were analyzed to derive examples of start-up education. In addition, the start-up-friendly academic system was analyzed and experts were interviewed to derive a plan to promote start-up college. (Findings) Through research, various measures were sought to establish a practical start-up environment. In addition, the results of the development and operation plan of startup college were derived. The effectiveness of the start-up-friendly academic system is decreasing. It is necessary to reduce the deviation of start-up infrastructure between regions and design a practical start-up curriculum using various platforms and systems. (Research implications or Originality) This study suggested the necessity and direction of startup college for the qualitative growth of start-up education suitable for the era of the 4th industrial revolution.
