In relation to hosting the 2030 Busan Expo, this study conducted an exploratory study on post-exposure utilization through case analysis. We attempted to present alternatives through domestic and international expo research data and survey results, and used the concepts of legacy and sustainability of mega events such as the Olympics and World Cup to suggest the direction of post-utilization. As a result of the study, the urban legacy of physical, social and cultural infrastructure, environmental of UN environment practice, economic as a new growth engine, and smart city implementation were derived. Post-use requires long-term planning and attention from the national and local governments, and permanent buildings It was found that a specialized organization for preservation, private investment activation, and promotion was needed for representative buildings and temporary buildings. In the survey, a plan was suggested to fully utilize the advantages of the maritime city and to include complex marine cultural tourism facilities and resort functions when establishing a post-use plan.
