토픽모델링과 시계열 분석을 활용한 국내외 독과점 산업 연구 동향 분석

Analysis of Korea and Global Monopoly Research Trends Using Topic Modeling and Time-Series Analysis

국내외 모두 소수의 대기업, 특정 산업에 집중된 독과점 현상을 예방하기 위해 공정거래법, 독점 모델 개발 및 발전 등의 노력을 기울여왔다. 하지만 코로나-19로 인한 비대면 거래 증가에 따른 거래 양상의 변화로 신산업이 등장하며 법의 공백이 발생하였다. 본 연구는 독과점 산업동향을 예측함으로써 관련 법률 제정 혹은 연구를 한발 앞서 진행하여 해당 문제를 예방해야 한다는 논의에서 시작하였다. 국내외 독과점 연구 동향을 살펴보기 위해 국내 논문은 RISS에서, 국외 논문은 Web of Science에서 1995-2021년 동안 독과점 규제 관련 논문 초록을 수집하였다. 전처리 후 LDA 토픽 모델링을 통해 15개씩 주요 토픽을 추출하였다. 또한, 토픽의 중요도를 계산하는 방식을 제안하고 해당 토픽의 연구가 얼마나 활발히 이루어졌는지 알아보는 지표로 활용하였다. 회귀분석을 통해 과거의 토픽별 연구 중요도 동향을 확인하였고, ARIMA 분석을 통해 향후 3년간 토픽별 연구 중요도 동향을 예측하였다. 분석 결과 국외 데이터에서는 대체로 토픽 중요도 변화가 크지 않음을 확인하였고, 국내 데이터에서 ‘온라인 거래’에 관한 연구의 향후 중요도가 증가할 것이라는 결과를 도출하였다.

Many countries have made efforts to prevent the concentration of a few major corporations and monopolistic practices by developing and improving fair trade laws and antitrust regulations. However, the emergence of new industries and changes in trading patterns due to increased online transactions amid the COVID-19 pandemic have created gaps in existing laws. We aim to predict trends in monopolistic industries to proactively prevent such problems by establishing relevant laws or regulations. In order to examine the research trends on domestic and international monopolies, we collected abstracts of papers related to monopoly regulation from the RISS database for domestic papers and the Web of Science for international papers from 1995 to 2021. After preprocessing the data, LDA topic modeling was conducted to extract the top 15 significant topics. Moreover, we proposed a method for calculating the topic's importance to measure how actively research has progressed. We employed the linear regression model to examine the trends in research importance for each topic, and the ARIMA model was applied to predict the future trends in research importance for the next three years. While no significant trends were observed in the international data, the findings from the domestic data indicated a significant increasing volume of research on “online transactions” in the future.
