The Relationship between Family Health and Middle Age Crisis: The Dual Mediating Effect of Self-differentiation and Meaning of Life

목적 본 연구는 가족건강성과 중년기 위기감의 관계를 살펴보고 자기분화와 삶의 의미의 매개효과를 검증하고자 하였다. 방법 연구대상은 전국에 거주하는 45세에서 60세의 중년기 성인 255명을 선정하였다. 수집된 자료는 SPSS 27.0과 The PROCESS macro for SPSS 4.0을 사용하여 분석하였다. 이중매개효과의 검증은 PROCESS Macro Model 6을 사용하였다. 결과 첫째, 가족건강성, 중년기 위기감, 자기분화, 삶의 의미의 관계에서 각 변인 간에 통계적으로 유의한 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 연구대상자의 성별과 연령에 따른 가족건강성, 중년기 위기감, 자기분화, 삶의 의미의 차이는 통계적으로 유의하지 않게 나타났다. 셋째, 중년기의 가족건강성과 중년기 위기감의 관계에서 자기분화와 삶의 의미의 이중매개 효과가 검증되었다. 결론 이러한 결과는 가족건강성이 자기분화와 삶의 의미를 매개로 하여 각각 다른 경로로 중년기 위기감에 영향을 미칠 수 있을 뿐 아니라 연속된 과정을 통해 영향을 미칠 수 있다는 것으로 중년기 가족건강성과 중년기 위기감의 관계에 대한 이해를 확장 시킬 것으로 기대된다. 아울러 다양한 분야에서 변인 간의 관계를 규명하기 위한 후속연구의 기초 자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Objectives This study tried to examine the relationship between family health and a sense of crisis in middle age and to verify the mediating effect of self-differentiation and the meaning of life. Methods The study selected 255 middle-aged adults aged 45 to 60 living across the country. The collected data were analyzed using SPSS 27.0 and The PROCESS macro for SPSS 4.0. PROCESS Macro Model 6 was used to ver-ify the dual mediating effect. Results First, the results of the study showed that there was a statistically significant correlation between each variable in the relationship between family health, a sense of crisis in middle age, self-differentiation, and the meaning of life. Second, the differences in family health, sense of crisis in middle age, self-differentiation, and meaning of life according to gender and age of the study subjects were not statistically significant. Third, the dual mediating effect of self-differentiation and meaning of life was verified in the relationship between family health in middle age and crisis in middle age. Conclusions These results are expected to expand the understanding of the relationship between middle-aged family health and middle-aged crisis by influencing middle-aged crisis through different channels through self-differentiation and the meaning of life. In addition, it can be used as basic data for follow-up research to clarify the relationship between variables in various fields.
