안익태와 부다페스트

이 논문은 안익태와 부다페스트의 관계에 대해 살펴본다. 안익태는 1936년 여름 부다페스트에서 지휘자로 정식 데뷔한다. 1936년 잘츠부르크 여름 아카데미에 참여하면서 얻게 된 행운이었다. 1937년 말 미국을 떠나 유럽을 향한 안익태는 그의 두 번째 체류 국가를 헝가리로 결정한다. 부다페스트에 도착 직후 에르뇌 도흐나니를 개인적으로 사사한 안익태는 부다페스트에서 그의 《한국환상곡》을 지휘했고 리스트 음악원에서 정식으로 코다이를 사사하게 되었다. 또한 헝가리와 문화교류를 활성화시키고 싶어 했던 일본은 안익태를 각종 음악회에 동원하게 되며 안익태는 두 명의 일본인과 각별한 관계를 갖게 된다. 특히 그의 만주국 합창 악보가 베를린 초연을 앞두고 부다페스트에서 출판된 것은 이번 논문에서 처음 알려진 것이며 이를 통해 그동안 확실치 않던 합창 부분의 가사 내용이 밝혀졌다는 점에도 의미가 있다. 그 외에도 이 논문은 지금까지 초연 연도가 불확실했던 그의 《에텐라쿠》가 부다페스트에서 작곡되었으며 로마에서 1940년 4월에 초연되었음을 보여준다.

The present article examines the relationship between Ahn EakTai(aka Ekitai Ahn) and Budapest, Hungary. He made his official debut as a conductor in Budapest in the summer of 1936, when he was fortunate enough to participate in the Salzburg Summer Academy. At the end of 1937, Ahn left the United States for Europe and decided to make Hungary his second destination. Ahn, who studied privately with Ernst von Dohnanyi immediately after arriving in Budapest in April of 1938, conducted his Korea Fantasy and formally studied with Zoltan Kodai at the Liszt Academy of Music. In addit ion, Japan, which wanted to revitalize cultural exchanges with Hungary and other countries of Eastern Europe, mobilized Ahn to various concerts from 1940 to 1943. In particular, the publication of his choral score of the Symphonic Fantasy ‘Manchukuo’ in Budapest just before the Berlin premiere is the first known in this thesis, and the contents of the lyrics of the chorus part, which had not been clear so far, were revealed fully for the first time. In addition, this paper shows that his orchestral work Etenraku, whose premiere year was uncertain until now, was composed in Budapest and premiered in Rome in April 30th, 1940.
